Chances are you are the one who plans things. The birthday, the bachelorette, the Christmas get together, the night everyone keeps saying you all should do something about. People message you asking what time and what to bring, and you like being that person. The hard part is deciding what everyone is actually going to do once they are in the room.

That is the part I write for.

You want your friends talking to each other. You want the quiet one to have something easy to say and the loud one to have somewhere to put it. You want people to look up from their phones because something better is happening, and you want them still arguing about who did it on the drive home.
You also want to enjoy your own party. So my games hand the evening over to your guests. Everyone gets a Character of their own, nobody performs from a script, and you play along instead of standing at the front explaining rules. Even The Killer has no idea they did it, so the ending catches you by surprise too.

You do not need to have done this before. Most of the hosts who write to me are running their first murder mystery, and often the first one anybody in their group has been to.
