What Kind of Murder Mystery Madness is This?

Let’s face it, murder mystery parties can be a bit stuffy. Not here! My parties are like your favorite sitcom, but with a touch of whodunit. I’m Line, the mastermind behind the mayhem, and I love to shake things up.

All my stories are fresh out of my imagination, so you won’t find any recycled plots here. We’re talking one killer, but sometimes there’s more than one victim – because why not add a little extra drama?

I believe in letting your inner detective shine! That’s why my parties are more like a choose-your-own-adventure than a strict script. You get the lowdown on your character, but then it’s up to you to bring them to life. So, ditch the stiff formalities and get ready to mingle, laugh, and uncover the killer!

What is a Murder Mystery Party?

Get ready for a night of intrigue, laughter, and a whole lot of fun! A murder mystery party is an interactive game where guests become characters in a fictional crime. You’ll gather clues, interrogate suspects, and work together to solve the mystery. It’s like a real-life detective story, but with way more pizzazz!

Yes, all of my games are suitable for beginners. All of my games have complete character bios and a how to play guide for the host making the games completely suitable for beginners – for both the host and the guests.

My murder mystery parties are designed to be flexible and fun. You’ll receive character information and clues to guide you through the night. There’s no strict script, so feel free to embrace your inner actor and bring your character to life. It’s all about interacting with other guests, gathering information, and having a blast while you solve the crime.

My packages are packed with everything you need to throw an unforgettable party. You’ll get detailed character information, clues, and a storyline that will keep your guests guessing. I also provide tips and guidance to help you host the perfect event.

On each sales page for a specific Murder Mystery you will find all the details for that specific game, and if it’s available: A link to an “Expansion Pack” with more done-for-you content for your party.

The length of the party depends on your preference. Typically, a murder mystery party lasts around 2-3 hours. However, you can customize the length to fit your schedule. If you want, you can stretch the game to last the whole party!

My murder mystery parties are suitable for adults and mature teens. The content is designed to be engaging and entertaining for a wide range of ages.
For most of my games I recommend 16+, but for some games (like my “A Killer Disco Party) I have included a “Clean Kit” which replaces the adult content with items and storylines that are more suitable for younger adults. None of my games are intened for children.

Game Play and Customization

Does the Host Need to Know Who the Murderer Is?

No, the host does not need to know who the murderer is. Each party is written in a way where you only find out who the murderer is at the very end, in “The Reveal” Section – which is a seperate document with a Reveal Monologue written for the killer to read out loud at the end of the party to – well… reveal the motives behind each of the murders in the game.
If the host wants to, they can simply choose not to read this document and be surprised like everyone else! The host will also get their own character, this adds an extra layer of excitement and suspense for everyone involved. The host will be playing alongside your guests, trying to crack the case.

I have included everything you might need to host a game and make it clear how to make the party a blast! In general my games are fairly simple to host, just pick the time and place, invite your guests as each character, print the game material and get ready for some delightful detective work.

While you can’t change the core mystery, you can definitely add your own flair to the party! Feel free to customize the invitations, decorations, and even the menu to match your style. I’ve also included flexible character options, so you can adjust the number of players to fit your guest list.

My murder mystery games are designed to be flexible, accommodating a variety of guest counts. Each game includes a core group of essential characters, but I’ve also included additional characters for larger groups. Mix and match to create the perfect party for your crowd! On each of my Murder Mysteries it clearly states the character count. Most of my games have a character count of 8-20 characters (8 primary and then 12 secondary), but all of my games can have unlimited characters if the Expansion Kit is bought, as this kit has the “Detective Character”, which can be used for an unlimited amount of guests (eg. as detectives, or as undercover detectives)

If the game is for “8-20 Players” this means that there are 8 primary players that needs to be at the party for the storyline to work, then here is an optional set of 12 more secondary characters that you can choose from. If you want to invite 25 people you absolutely can! Just make the other guests (undercover/) detectives.

No, you do have to print everything from the murder mystery game kit if you don’t want to. My games are environmentally friendly digital downloads (PDF files). All of the Charater Guides have been formatted to work on your phone or other device including the host guide. However, there are certain game elemtents and certain documents that you might prefer to print, such as the evidence for the murders at the party.

You can send your guests their Character Guides and the pre-party information to their emails or share them however else you wish. You can have the guests print their own Character Guides, or just ask them to have it ready on their phone. Some might like the paper version, and some just need the digital version, it’s up to you and your guests.

In game kits, and in the expansion kits, there are additional evidence, and party extras that you can choose to print – you can print and use all of it, or just some of it.

No need to break the bank on fancy props! Most of the fun comes from the characters and the clues. However, if you want to add a touch of flair, feel free to use decorations or costumes to enhance the atmosphere.

My games can take a relatively short amount of time if you power through and don’t take breaks, particularly with less characters. If you are short on time speed up the suggested timeline to fit your needs.

To keep the mystery alive for everyone, my games are designed for one-time use. Each game has a unique ending, ensuring that every party is a fresh and exciting experience.

Don’t worry, even the best detectives hit roadblocks sometimes! Each game includes helpful hints and clues to guide you along the way. If you’re still stumped, feel free to encourage your guests to work together and share their findings. Remember, teamwork makes the dream work!
