If you picture a murder mystery as guests sitting around a table and reading from a script, a MortalCase party works differently. Each guest receives a Character Guide, then mingles, shares selected information, protects secrets, follows relationships, and investigates evidence as three murders unfold. The host guides the important moments but does not direct every conversation, and can play without knowing the killer. After the final investigation, everyone votes, and then the Reveal finally names the killer and the motives behind all three murders. The Essential Game Kit contains the complete mystery, while the Expansion Game Kit adds optional support for groups that want more direction, evidence, Detectives, or party extras.
